1. Introduction and Acceptance
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the relationship between Meridian Volk ("we", "us", "our") and clients ("you", "the client") who engage our residential electrical services or access our website at meridian-volk.site.
By making an enquiry, confirming a booking, or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with booking.
Meridian Volk operates as a residential electrical service provider based at 58 Jalan Kelawei, 10250 George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Our wiremen are registered under Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) and operate in compliance with Malaysian electrical regulations.
2. Services Offered
We offer three defined residential electrical services:
- Technical Home Visit — A structured assessment of your home's electrical installation, concluding with a written report. Priced at RM 645 (~USD 145). Typical duration: approximately 2 hours for a standard apartment.
- Precise Fitting Installation — Installation of lighting fixtures, switches, power outlets, and accessories. Priced at RM 1,775 (~USD 400). Client-supplied fittings are accepted.
- Main Panel Work — Technical service on the main electrical distribution board, including testing, inspection, measurement, updated labeling, and written summary. Priced at RM 3,370 (~USD 760). Typical duration: 3–5 hours.
All services are subject to availability and geographical scope. We primarily serve George Town and greater Penang Island. For locations outside this area, please enquire before booking.
USD pricing shown is indicative and subject to prevailing exchange rates. Payment is due in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR).
3. Booking and Confirmation
A service booking is confirmed when we provide written or verbal confirmation of the appointment date, time, service type, and agreed scope. We will not commence work beyond the confirmed scope without prior discussion.
We reserve the right to decline a booking at our discretion, including where access to the property or the electrical installation is not safely achievable, or where the requested work falls outside our service scope.
Any changes to the confirmed scope — requested by either party — will be discussed and agreed before additional work proceeds.
4. Service Scope and Limitations
Our services are limited to the scope described in these Terms and confirmed at booking. The following apply:
- The Technical Home Visit is an assessment service. It does not constitute a certification or regulatory compliance certificate. Findings are advisory.
- The Main Panel Work service addresses the main distribution board only. Work on sub-panels, outdoor circuits, or other specialised systems requires separate discussion and agreement.
- Where on-site conditions differ materially from what was described at booking — including hidden structural issues, concealed hazards, or non-standard configurations — we will advise you before proceeding.
- We are not responsible for pre-existing defects, deficiencies, or hazards in your installation that were not observable during the service.
- We do not provide building or structural assessments, plumbing services, or any work outside the scope of residential electrical work.
5. Client Responsibilities
To enable us to carry out the service effectively and safely, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your property and electrical installation when making an enquiry or booking
- Ensure safe and unobstructed access to relevant areas, including the main electrical panel, rooms to be assessed or worked in, and access routes
- Disclose any known hazards, unsafe conditions, or relevant modifications to the installation prior to or at the time of the visit
- Ensure that an authorised adult (18 years or older) is present on the property for the duration of the service
- Where client-supplied fittings are to be installed, provide fittings that are in good condition and reasonably suited for the intended installation
We reserve the right to suspend or discontinue a service if on-site conditions present a safety concern, without liability for any costs or inconvenience arising from this decision.
6. Pricing and Payment
Service prices are as listed on our website and confirmed at booking. Prices are stated in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR).
Payment terms and accepted methods will be confirmed at or before the time of booking. Payment is typically due upon completion of the service unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Where additional work beyond the confirmed scope is agreed on-site, the cost will be discussed and agreed before the additional work proceeds. No additional charges will be applied without your prior consent.
In the event of a cancellation or rescheduling, please notify us as soon as practicable. We reserve the right to apply a cancellation charge where a visit is cancelled or reschedule with less than 24 hours' notice, at a rate to be communicated at the time.
7. Written Reports
Written reports are provided as part of the Technical Home Visit and Main Panel Work services. Reports reflect observations and findings at the time of the visit and are intended as a reference document for the client.
Reports are advisory in nature and do not constitute a formal certification, statutory compliance document, or guarantee of any kind. Recommendations in the report represent our professional observations and are offered for the client's consideration.
We retain a copy of service reports for a period consistent with our Privacy Policy. Reports are not shared with third parties without client consent, except where required by Malaysian law.
8. Liability
Meridian Volk carries out all work with the care and skill expected of a registered wireman operating under Malaysian electrical regulations. However, our liability is subject to the following limitations:
- We are not liable for loss or damage arising from pre-existing defects in your electrical installation that were not caused by our work.
- Our liability for any direct damage caused during a service visit is limited to the cost of rectifying that specific damage.
- We are not liable for consequential, indirect, or economic losses arising from any aspect of our services.
- We are not liable for damage arising from the client's failure to disclose known hazards or relevant information about the property or installation.
- Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under Malaysian law.
9. Client-Supplied Fittings
Where you provide your own fittings for installation, we will carry out the installation with the same care as manufacturer-sourced items. However:
- We are not responsible for defects inherent in client-supplied fittings.
- If a client-supplied fitting is found to be incompatible, damaged, or unsuitable during installation, we will advise you before proceeding. You may elect to proceed, supply a replacement fitting, or have us source an alternative.
- We are not liable for any failure, damage, or loss arising from defects in client-supplied fittings that were not apparent at the time of installation.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, images, design elements, and the written reports we produce — is the property of Meridian Volk or used with permission. Written reports produced for a client are provided for that client's personal use and reference.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any content from this website without our prior written consent.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.

12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be published at this URL with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of our services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
